James Ruebotham sealed the 2019/20 Order of Merit with his 4th win of the season at Crews Hill in March. With the Tour Championship cancelled due to the Covid-19 outbreak and subsequent lockdown, the event at Crews Hill inevitably became the final round of the season and barring a major upset was Ruebotham’s title from the outset. With Glen Portelli out of the tournament in self isolation the only player with a chance of overturning Ruey’s lead was Jack Hawksby who would’ve needed to win the tournament and Ruey to finish outside the top 15.
Ruebotham went on to shoot a final round 68 against Hawksby’s 78 to claim his 4th victory in six starts and the final Order of Merit title.
